ROTE Joins the United Nations Fashion & Lifestyle Network: Redefining Transparency in Fashion

ROTE is proud to announce our membership in the United Nations Fashion and Lifestyle Network (UNFLN) — a milestone that affirms our commitment to reshaping the fashion industry through transparency, accountability, and sustainability. The UN Fashion and Lifestyle Network unites global leaders across industries to foster transparency, innovation, and positive impact within fashion and lifestyle. By joining this network, ROTE is stepping onto a global stage to collaborate, share knowledge, and push for systemic change — not through marketing buzzwords, but through measurable action.
ROTE’s core objective is to evolve the standard of transparency in fashion — by encouraging brands to understand what goes into the making of each garment. Just as the FDA mandates ingredient transparency in food and beauty products, ROTE believes fashion should meet the same level of transparency and accountability.
ROTE is advocating for the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to expand its current garment labeling requirements, which currently cover: fiber content, country of origin, manufacturer or importer identity, care instructions.
Our goal is to see the FTC require brands to disclose any toxic chemicals used throughout a garment’s lifecycle — from farming and fiber processing to dyeing, finishing, and packaging.
This initiative aims to bring the fashion industry’s transparency practices in line with the FDA’s ingredient disclosure standards, empowering consumers to make informed, health-conscious choices while holding brands accountable for their environmental and social impact.
